ABOUT THE WORK

My work is an expression of personal experience related to trauma, healing and the space that lies in between.

​

I aim to create dialogue around taboo subjects including sexuality, abuse, abortion, body dysmorphia, the female "role" within society and the objectification of women.

​

This work asks the viewer to question how the female body is viewed within society and within their own paradigm. How women's bodies are still often viewed by men and media as an object of sex and fertility. That women are beautiful but only if they fit within a specific set of attributes. Ideas that women are creatures of weakness and submission.

My art is an expression of a power struggle that often exists within ourselves.
